How does Lanhorz work?

You add your income and bills — by hand, from an uploaded statement, or from a read-only UK bank connection. Lanhorz holds the bill money and your savings pots back, and shows you one number: what is genuinely safe to spend. You choose how hard it holds that line.

Is Lanhorz a bank?

No. Lanhorz is not a bank, lender, or payment institution. It does not hold your balance, move your money, or control your card.

Does Lanhorz hold or move my money?

No. Your money stays exactly where it is, in your own bank account. Lanhorz connects read-only: it reads balances and transactions so it can work out what is safe to spend. "Protecting" money means Lanhorz stops counting it as spendable — not moving it anywhere.

Does Lanhorz pay my bills automatically?

No. Lanhorz has no ability to make a payment from your account. It makes sure the money for your bills is not counted as money you can spend, so it is still there when the bills go out.

What makes Lanhorz different from Snoop, Emma or Monzo?

Those apps will all show you your bills and tell you what you spent. None of them stops the money being there when you reach for it. Lanhorz takes it out of your spending number first and holds it there at a level you set — which is the difference between being informed and being protected. If all you want is tracking, they are good apps and free; we would rather say so than sell you something you do not need.

Who is Lilith?

Lilith is the in-app assistant. She helps you understand your position, run plans, and suggest changes — always with your confirmation before anything is written. She has no access to your bank account and cannot decline a card payment.

What is a protection level?

Accepted Answer

It is how hard Lanhorz holds your money back. Warn Only tells you when you are heading into protected money. Light Protection and Balanced Control hold back a growing share of what is left after bills. High Restriction and Maximum Protection hold back the most. You set it once and Lanhorz keeps to it.

Can I change my protection level?

Yes, from your account at any time. Some goals can be set with an agreed commitment period so progress is harder to undo on impulse.

Will Lanhorz stop me spending my own money?

Accepted Answer

It cannot physically stop you — your bank card keeps working and Lanhorz never declines a payment. What it does is remove that money from the number you are working to, and tell you before you spend into it rather than after. For most people that is the difference that matters.

What happens after my bills are covered?

What is left gets split into pots — savings, a rainy day fund, family costs, longer-term goals — and those are held back too. What survives all of that is yours to spend without checking.

Is Lanhorz only for people in debt?
